2/19 Miracle cure fails me :(

February 19th, 2007 by admin

So I tried so Addoral and I was excited to be able to take something and actually focus on something for once. I took a half of a pill last night and not much luck, felt a bit antsy actually. So I tried a full tablet today and I got really irratible, could not focus at all(even to finish writing a sentence) and felt really aggressive(like wanting to punch a wall because I couldn’t focus). Needless the say the opposite effect I wanted, since I have a Spanish test tomorrow and I needed something to get me going on those mind-numbing workbook activities that are due tomorrow.

So beware! Addoral doesn’t work for everyone!

2/17 Deux ex machina

February 19th, 2007 by admin

So I punched the broken radio in my car…and it started working. Combined with the sun, this would seem to be a good day!

But then, just as it was fixed, it stopped again…and then I was carded (as the driver, who didn’t get out of the car..what is wrong with this state!) and had to go to another liquor store.

So maybe god was just messing with me. In the meantime I’ll keep punching my stereo and hoping it’ll start working again.

So much for divine intervention :P

2/14 Happy Singles Awareness Day!

February 15th, 2007 by admin

Not my favorite holiday. First single Valentine’s day for me in about 4 years. Well, longer than that. Before that I had Everquest, we were quite close :) And everyone’s always got to rub it in don’t they? Sons of bitches, hah

It kind of reminds me of that Dane Cook skit. . . L-O-V-E, when your not in love, it just seems like EVERYONE else is, even the retards! The tards across the street are getting married!

Good things come to those who wait . . . right? Besides, I have 75% of one classes grade due tomorrow, a pleasant distraction!

2/11 New Decision~

February 11th, 2007 by admin

Went to the UO Lacrosse game against Simon Frasier. We definitely owned them 19-9. I had some pretty high expectations of the UO team but I’ve seen better high school teams (granted, they were really good high schools like OES). So ultimately I decided I really missed playing lacrosse so I’ve decided to buy myself a short-stick and try it out so that I can try to get back into it with indoor lacrosse next fall. Despite dropping the ball my senior year and not giving a shit(for which I am eternally regretting, hah), I figure I can still play some decent defense with some practice.

Then again, last week I decided I was going to buy a guitar and learn to play. OK, I also said that before this term even started. So we’ll see how this ‘plan’ fares in comparison, hah!

In other news, I have a huge crush on Elliot in Scrubs, but I don’t think she’ll be sending me a valentine :) I did get one from my mom today though, go me! hah

2/10 A walking disaster

February 10th, 2007 by admin

well I just thought it was interesting to note that when I was at Safeway today some guy collapsed (something to do with Heroine I overheard) and the ambulance took him off in a stretcher. Right afterwards I ate a Subway and there was a car accident outside.

Beware of me tonight, haha!

2/9 Economics, the social science that thinks its a science

February 9th, 2007 by admin

I couldn’t resist discussing with my econ prof, its been bothering my all term. Economists seem to have this complex that makes them believe their numbers are closer to math/science than any other social science. Psychologists admit that its vague. Anthropologists will never claim to be able to predict the number of people who intend to emigrate in the coming year. Yet in my econ class its always ‘in the long run these are exactly the same.’ As a social science economics can only be a best estimate of the future or even the present. Social sciences deal with people, people don’t make sense. I have found that economists tend to forget the basic restraint of economic thought, the premise that that people act rationally. Which they don’t.

And I’m angry that he didn’t give me credit on the questions I was protesting on the midterm.

(The truth comes out :) )
