12.12 This coming year. The final test for the American people.

December 12th, 2007 by admin

This will be the final test of my confidence in the American people. Will people follow the headlines, the slander, or will they think critically about the issues?

The media perpetuates ignorance and short-shortsightedness. I wish this was liberal garbage…but watch the media around the world, American media is distinct in many ways. I deeply, deeply fear that the media is a representation of the people in America. I pray that I am wrong.

Shining example is Huckabee. Numerous bald faced lies swarming his candidacy(Rape letter anyone? They quote the phrase Huck wrote to the guy, “my desire is that you be released from prison.” the very next sentence that they leave out is, “but I will not commute your sentence” !!!!) When faced with these, he clearly and concisely refutes them. The question is, does America have the cahones not to eat what the media feeds them? Can they think for themselves? Or are we on the dark road to 1984….

12.6 Really, Romney?

December 6th, 2007 by admin

Can I beat your advisers over the head? Yes, I don’t like Romney because of the way he looks, talks, and acts like a used car salesmen. He’s a spoiled brat which has been far to groomed for President to take seriously. Personal opinion, doesn’t mean he can’t be President.

The real issue is why Romney would appear with Pres. Bush Senior to give his JFK faith and politics speech. There is a reason Republican candidates are as afraid of Bush as a vampire daylight! What was he thinking!

Why Romney is sinking…sinking…and gone:
1) Greasy politician trying to buy votes (pays for volunteers!)
2) Whatever he says, the majority of Americans will not vote for a Mormon. Its not the same as a Catholic, the ‘JFK’ speech will fail.
3) He should have given this speech a long time ago.
4) “Americans do not respect believers of convenience. Americans tire of those that would jettison their beliefs even to gain the world” Yes ROMNEY said this. Talk about calling the kettle black!

Why the news media hyped this speech so much I do not know….hes sinking in the polls and 4th or 5th in most of these. But who knows, maybe he’ll strike a chord, maybe someone else will falter. A couple of weeks can change alot.

12.5 Illegal Immigration

December 5th, 2007 by admin

Just listened to another Huck bashing on the illegal immigrant scholarship bill. As heard on the debate, Huck supported a bill which allowed illegal immigrants to qualify for meritorious scholarships also available to citizens.

For this, he is labeled as soft on immigration. I find this unbelievable. As a country we are terrified of immigrants. Same thing happened with the Irish. Understandable ignorant fear. Certainly there are genuine problems: health care, flooding shools, ect. But lets take a look at this issue from a public policy standpoint. Giving tax-payer money to high achieving immigrants on the road to citizenship. Giving them opportunities to attend college. Lets be clear, this is the kind of immigration countries salivate over. The immigration people fear is the immigration of poor uneducated people who sap resources. I saw Huckabee accused of making Arkansas a magnet for illegal immigration.

If this makes Arkansas a magnet for high-achieving Mexicans, more power to him! Rewarding non-criminal academic achievers who are striving to be tax-paying citizens is not liberal idealism, its good public policy. Are you trying to tell me that academic scholarships for drug-free “A” students attracts the wrong kind of immigrant? Unless you are a radical(and clearly have no knowledge of economics) and want to deport every Mexican here illegally, then this is the kind of policy we NEED. If you fear immigration because of the aforementioned reasons, you have no reason to fear this bill. Absolutely the only thing that could motivate fear of this bill is xenophobia. Afraid of dark-skinned people again, what a great country we are today.

Fuming mad. Fuming.
