Ireland
Some crazy times in Dublin. I flew here from London and planned to meet up with Rachel, an Irish girl I met on a pub crawl in Rome. I never made it to the countryside because the tour was unfortunately full! Overall the weekend was great fun, which is impressive especially because of how many things ended up going wrong!

Dublin
I arrived pretty late on Friday the 20th, and didn’t have a place to go! I was planning on calling Rachel, an Irish girl I met when I was in Rome, so I did. I mention this because making the call was an interesting experience in itself. None of the phone booths were working so I asked the security guy where another was, and he just gave me his cell phone. My first experience with the Irish and its pretty fitting. I had to call a few times as I had absolutely no knowledge of the city, or map. (bad idea, hah). So after running into a few people, mostly couples(I try to be less of a creeper by not approaching people who are alone, haha), and having them not only let me use their cell phones, but offer to guide me there and chatting with me! So nice, and so refreshing from Copenhagen. Anyways I finally got to the bar ‘Welans’ which was 10 euro to get into…but it was a pretty nice place.

I was a bit frustrated not being able to find Rachel. It was a bit late and she wasn’t exactly sober, being that they were celebrating her sister’s birthday. In the meantime I had some random experiences, all in all chatting with more locals that night than I did in a month in Copenhagen, without even overly trying! So my plan to save money and crash at Rachel’s had a bit of a kink in it…being that as it turns out she was living in dormitory run by nuns! Hah, guys aren’t exactly welcome. So I ended up in just about the sketchiest hostel I’ve ever been in. Everything was full since there was a big rugby game that weekend.
So I did finally find Rachel and her sister (above). Had a good time, fun bar, then headed off to my creepy hostels for the night.

Saturday
Waking up there was definatly something illegal going on. Two shady looking guys speaking some other language were loading merchandise of some sort in to big trash bags. Hmm. Needless to say I started my journey to find another place to stay.

So met up with Rachel for lunch then we walked around a bit, seeing some sights. Not excellent weather for touring the city, so the pictures didn’t turn out too great! We agreed to meet up for dinner and such with her and her sister out in a suburb of Dublin, Donneybrook. I got there a bit late, and I did manage to find the meeting point, so yea I called the wrong number and couldn’t find her(we had some phone issues that weekend…not getting into it..). So I’m in a random suburb of Dublin, and I run into a few people at the place I’m waiting for, because I was asking them for a cell phone. Long story short, they invited me along to a house party. Really random, but at least something worked out that night! We headed down to the bars later on.
Sunday

So we did a bit more sightseeing today, though Ireland is more known for natural scenery than museums and famous monuments, so there isn’t a ton to see. Nice bridge shot here though!

Had some late lunch and called it a day, she had way too much homework to be hanging out to much. Given my brilliant timing(this is like dead center of midterms, hah!).

Last night in Dublin, I was calling it early because I had a flight the morning after(and I’m terrible at waking up). But I was convinced to head out to a pub crawl. I joined up late…and never actually paid, hah! Hardly anyone there, given it was a sunday, but really awesome bars, live music and everything. The picture below needs explaining I guess, but I dont really have one, a picture was being taken and some stumbling took place. Either way it turned out really funny.
Ok, I just find this sign super creepy, what about you?
